I am Marco Boat, an outdoor enthusiast and professional tour guide with nearly 30 years of experience in the world of outdoor tourism. My passion for sports began as a competitive road cyclist and mountain biker, competing at both national and international levels until the age of 25. Alongside cycling, I was also a dedicated skier, competing until I was 18, which led me to become a ski instructor in Italy, specifically in Sestriere, and eventually in the renowned French ski area of Les Trois Vallées from 2000 onward.
As my love for adventure and guiding grew, I transitioned into leading cycling tours across Italy and beyond. My journey as a bike guide started with Club Mediterranee and evolved into working with American tour operators, leading bike tours in some of Italy’s most stunning regions—Piedmont, Liguria, Tuscany, Puglia, and Sicily. My knowledge of these areas is vast, from the rolling hills of Langhe and Roero to the historic roads of the Dolomites and the sun-soaked coasts of Puglia and Sicily.
In winter, I have continued my career as a ski instructor in the French National Ski School, where I also coordinate services for English-speaking guests. This experience has helped me develop a strong ability to cater to international visitors, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported throughout their journey.
Whether it’s a road bike, gravel bike, MTB, or E-bike, I strive to make each cycling adventure an unforgettable experience, highlighting the cultural treasures, natural landscapes, and culinary delights of each region. I value flexibility, professionalism, and an open, friendly approach, which allows me to connect with travelers from all walks of life and provide a truly memorable experience.
In 2019, I became a certified national tour guide in Italy, and in 2021, I was officially recognized as a cycling tour leader by the Piedmont Region. My expertise lies not only in leading groups but also in creating customized experiences that dive deep into the local culture, history, and natural beauty of each area we explore. I work with both individuals and tour operators to craft tailored itineraries that include everything from logistical details to the small touches that make each journey unique.
I speak Italian, French, and English fluently, with a basic knowledge of Spanish and Russian, always aiming to connect with as many people as possible on our shared journey through the outdoors.
